The paint and resin industry, which is also referred to as the paint and coating industry, is one of the industries related to the petrochemical industry, and at first it was limited to the production of construction paints, and later various types of industrial coatings were added to it. The common border between the paint and coating industry and the petrochemical industry is in the use of synthetic resins, solvents, and some other additives to paint, which are the downstream products of the petrochemical industry.

Coating has mainly the role of protective and decorative. In the world, about 45% of production coatings are used for decoration and protection of various constructions such as houses, apartments, production units; which is called under the title of construction-decorative coatings or in short, ((paint)). Also, 40% is used as protective coating in different industries; because without protective coatings, the manufactured product will be destroyed and the maintenance of many products will not be economical.
